FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How would you define your style?
Our style of photography is a mix of fine art and editorial, but we also love capturing the emotional candid moments throughout the day as well. We have a very specific way we capture each of our weddings, and all our team members are trained to do the same.

We think using both styles is a win-win concept that our client’s truly love, this way you have a bit of both worlds and will have your wedding documented in a mixed style that provides the most variety to your imagery.

How do I chose the right photographer?
It is best to find a photography company that has a style you already love. The next important factor would be to find a team you connect well with, because you will be spending your entire wedding day beginning to end with your photography team, so you want to make sure you vibe well together. Other than that, you should have a list of your top priorities and find a company that fits what you are looking for, as some may put professionalism as their first priority and others may feel price is most important.

Tell us about your professionalism.
One of the biggest compliments we get after every wedding we capture is how professional our team is, and not only on the wedding day but throughout the wedding planning journey as well. We value each of our clients and are always available to answer any questions they have, the experience you have with us from start to finish is the most important factor to us.

How quick do you respond to your clients?
We do our best to respond to all our clients as quickly as possible. Anytime you call us, Monday through Sunday 9AM to 9PM we are available to assist you in any way that we can. The only reason we would not pick up after a few rings would be because we are on another call, and you will receive a call back in minutes. Try us now and see for yourself!

How many photographers will be at my wedding?
For most weddings, it will be two photographers and one photography assistant. If you would like to add an additional photographer for larger weddings over 300 guests, that is always an option as we are able to coordinate our team according to your needs.

We have a destination wedding, how would you handle travel?
We are happy to take care of all the research when it comes to travel logistics for our team, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Once we have all the flights, hotels, and any other travel requirements ready for your review, we will email it to you and/or your wedding planner for approval.

Will you help with posing and give direction?
A big yes to this! We do our best to make our couples feel as comfortable as possible, so they shine with confidence. Our photographers will guide you all throughout, so you do not need to worry - as long as you put your trust in us, you will love your images.

When should we book your services for our wedding?
If you would like Rene to be your wedding photographer, we would recommend at least one year in advance, especially if it will be on a Saturday or it will be a destination wedding. Sometimes we have availability even a few months in advance, but for best luck we would recommend as soon as possible.

Do you outsource your editing?
Never! All our editing is done in house with our highly skilled team, which are all trained by Rene himself. We see every image as a work of art, which is why we do such detailed coloring and retouching.

Do you only capture weddings in southern california?
We capture weddings all over the world! Our favorite places we have been outside of California are Lake Como, Paris, Tuscany, New York, Vegas, Chicago, and so many more!

What does fine art photography mean?
With this style, we focus on the moments of joy, laughter, energy, heartwarming moments, and timeless beauty. This is perfect for our clients who prefer a softer and elegant touch to their images, with minimal high-fashion style posing, and more focus on the emotion and moments of their wedding day.

What does editorial photography mean?
This style offers more of a magazine style image. With a strong focus on fashion based posing and direction, creating images that have a true “wow” factor and glam.

Why are engagement sessions so important?
Such a great question! The engagement session is our first chance to work together, and for our clients to see how we work and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. It is also a chance for us build some rapport with you through real experiences. If you are like most couples, then you probably have never been photographed professionally before, so this is your chance to experiment and learn your best angles. Which we will of-course, help you discover!

When do you recommended we do our engagement session?
It all depends on when you’d like to do it. We have couples who do it six months out so they can use it for their save the date cards, and we have others who want to do it as close to the wedding day as possible. We think the perfect time to do it is when you are ready for it. Our team will reach out to you three months before you big day, so that we can discuss outfits, location options and other helpful tips!

Where should we do our engagement session?
We provide a list of location recommendations with helpful tips to prepare for your session, our list has 30+ locations within the Los Angeles area that we love, with sample images and pricing for photography permits. The best way to narrow down a location is to decide on a style you like and a budget for the photography permit. Regardless of our list of recommendations, we are always open to your suggestions and of course to travel!

What is a photography permit?
Most locations in the Los Angeles require a photography permit to shoot at their property. The Bay Area, Orange County, and New York are a little less strict - but in Los Angeles it is quite different. The permit applications and fees vary on location, but we are always here to guide you through this process to make it as stress free as possible.
